Six Styling Tricks for Summer Elegance

Six Styling Tricks for Summer Elegance

Our last post showcased the best cloth for summer jackets, now we are back to advise you on how to wear your summer sportcoats in different ways. We selected jackets from Neapolitan tailoring houses Cesare Attolini and Sartorio, to style each in two different ways. The aim is to showcase how you can adapt these pieces according to different summer occasions. We must also mention the pants, made by famous trouser specialist Incotex, these and a lot more will be available in the coming days.

Double Breasted Silk Hopsack Blazer by Sartorio Napoli

A nicely balanced contemporary cut, the jacket is a bit shorter than classic variations, meant to be worn close to the body. To keep the silhouette on the modern side, we recommend to wear it with slim fit pants.

For business and formal purposes, we paired the jacket with gray tropical wool pants and black double monks. DB jackets and double monks are a rakish combination for the modern gentleman, this case the matching of silver buttons and buckles makes the pairing even more desirable. A forest green plaid tie completes the look, a sophisticated combination that enriches the navy blue color of the blazer.

Staying true to the heritage of the aforementioned garment, our casual interpretation is featured around a naval theme. Switch the shirt to a Breton top, red stripes are less common and obvious than white. The look works with jeans as well, but the linen blend pants will feel much more convenient on warm summer days. The pants also feature an interesting weave of blue/gray yarns, a modern, highly versatile combination. Suede boat shoes from Kiton strengthen the casual feel. Exactly what you need for a chic dinner during the holidays.

Wool/Silk/Linen Plaid Jacket by Sartorio Napoli

A well considered bold check goes a long way in men’s style. The fresh blues of this Sartorio Napoli piece are perfect for the brightest of sunshine, we were already raveing about, why this material is the ultimate summer jacketing cloth (Ide be lehet szúrni linknek az előző posztot.) The look on the left is a great option to attend summer weddings as a guest. As dress codes becoming more and more casual, wearing a full suit is not always needed. Maked sure to check out the location and time, feel for the environment always helps to determine the outfit to go for. The tonal pairing of the jacket and pants have a celebratory feel, the crisp white and neatly folded pocket square brings the necessary contrast. The foulard patterned tie is optional, a navy blue silk knit is a great alternative, for a more restrained proposition. On the contrary, the second look is to enjoy „regular” occasions. Lunch with the family or drinks with your friends, all important happenings of day-to-day life. The navy linen shirt is key to achieve the laid back, but still elegant impression. A great summer essential, which works also, when you need to take your jacket off. The dark khaki pants „break” the blues in the look, to maintain the casual feel. The driving loafers feel a bit more serious in calf, rather than suede, which balances out elegant/informal feel well.

Cesare Attolini Hight Twist Worsted Wool Windowpane Jacket

Although gray jackets are not the easiest to wear, this Cesare Attolini with the navy/beige windowpane check running through it is an exception. Choosing same colored pants create harmony between the upper and lower part of the looks.

The mantra says, the bigger the contrast, the more casual the overall effect is. In our opinion, this is not always true. Do you agree that the low contrast look feels more formal/business than the higher contrast variation?

We broke the rule with the use of textures and accessories in the first outfit. By pairing it with a dark tie and black calf shoes, we achieved a creative business casual look, recommended for snazzy dressers, who enjoy to show off their dress sense at the workplace.

The second look builds on the complementary combination of gray and beige. The muted colors of the pants and shoes are „calming” the jacket down, giving an overall „washed out” effect to the look. To avoid to disappear in the sunshine, the sky blue shirt makes sure to direct others attention to the face.
